At the end of the day, the report estimates that the top-earning Albertans could save a maximum of $1425 a year in pension contributions. But savings for those earning less would be less. The report also estimates it could cost up to $2.2 billion, just to set up the fund. I'm not going to claim the report is easy reading. But I hope Albertans who have a stake in this debate will delve into the details.
In 1997, the CPP stopped using a "pay as you go" approach, in which annual contribution were expected to fund that year's benefits, and switched instead to system where the CPP collects more money that it needs for that year, and invests the rest, to be used in the future, when demography shifts. But the APP report recommends that Alberta go back to pay as you go for its fund - making it far less stable, long-term, it would seem to me.
Well. I finally finished reading the whole LifeWorks report on setting up an Alberta pension plan. It isreally quite something. Among other things, it suggests that Alberta is actually entitled to 117% of the total value of the CPP investment fundbut recommends that Alberta only (ehem) claim 53% of the CPPs total assets. The actuarial analysis on which everything else is based assumes that the CPP would hand over that full amount. So..

I'm looking for a simple interval timer app I can use both for pomodoro work intervals and for workouts. I just want to be able to make a custom interval loop (i.e. 1 minute, 2 minutes, 1 minute, 2 minutes) and start it and have it make a sound.
